The 1771-QC PLC 5 Servo Positioning Assembly by Allen-Bradley is a chassis-based modular assembly consisting of a servo controller module (1771-M3) and a servo expander module (1771-ES) used in industrial application to control the motion of a user-supplied machine axis. The assembly can increase the amount of controlled axis motion, by the addition of extra 1771-ES servo expander module and the maximum number of axis controlled on a 1771 I/O chassis is 3. The 1771-QC has an isolated servo output rating of +-10V DC and uses a D/C digital-to-analog converter with signed 12-bit resolution. The total assembly has 3 input types the encoder input with 1.6V high and 1.0V sinking 1mA low and 2 encoder input frequency input modes (250k Hz differential and 20k Hz single-ended input frequency). The tachometer input with 50V DC maximum input voltage at an input impedance of 20 kilo-ohms and the discrete input with selectable resistance switch. The 1771-QC also has 2 outputs the drive selectable with 100mA (sink/source) at 30V DC maximum output voltage, and the hard output with +15V source ON voltage and 15mA sink OFF current. 

The 1771-QC’s modular components draw a backplane current of 1.75A (1771-M3 controller) and 1.7A (1771-ES expander). The 1771-QC assembly requires an external power supply with +30V DC (max), and 500mA (max) for it inputs and +15V DC, 200mA for it DAC converter and hard done output, and +30V DC (max), 100mA (max) for it drive disable outputs. The assembly has a programmed speed range of 0.0001-9990.0000 ipm, with 9999 ipm/s maximum Accel/Deccel, and an initial servo gain of 0.01-9.99 ipm/mil. The 1771-QC has a factory-designated functional temperature range of 0-60 0C (32-140 0F) at 5-95% non-condensing relative humidity and it is stored at a -40-85 0C (-40-185 0F) temperature range.
