The Allen-Bradley 1771-TCM is a Temperature Control module. The Allen-Bradley 1771-TCM is a Temperature Control Module (TCM) that features Eight (8) individually isolated PID loops. This module is specifically used for Temperature control applications with each channel compatible for Thermocouple type B, E, J, K, R, S and T and +/- 105 mV. It follows standard PID terminologies such as Manipulated Variable, Controlled Variable, Process Variable and Controller gain as defined by the ISA/IEEE standards.
The 1771-TCM is applicable in Temperature application range of 300 to 1800 Degree Celsius for Type B sensor, -270 to 1000 Degree Celsius for type E, -210 to 1200 Degree Celsius for type J, -270 to 1372 Degree Celsius for type K, -50 to 1768 Degree Celsius for type R sensor, -20 to 1768 Degree Celsius for type S and -270 to 400 Degree Celsius for Type T sensor. It has a maximum input resolution of 3.3?V at 15-bits with sign or 16-bits. It has a Thermocouple linearization of IPTS-standard, NBS MN-125 with cold junction compensation of 0-70 Degree Celsius +/- 25 Degree Celsius.
The 1771-TCM comes with a 6-pole low pass hardware filter with recommended calibration interval 6 months for initial use and yearly for the successive period of application. It supports half addressing, and full slot addressing with restricted compatibility. It can be installed to any slot of the 1771 I/O chassis and compatible for use with PLC-3, PLC-5 and PLC-5/250 processors. It consumes Sixteen (16) input image bits, Sixteen (16) output image bits, 192 Read-block Words and 342 Write-Block Words. It requires a connection cable of 1771-NC6 and 1771-NC15 with keying between 26 and 28 or 32 and 36.
The 1771-TCM draws a backplane current of 1.1A and has a current surge of 1.5A on power Turn-Up. It has a default display resolution of 0.1 0C, uses the 0C (0F) scales, and has an impedance greater than 10 Mega Ohms. It has 9Hz input frequency and 1s update time for all loops. The 1771-TCM provides open input detection (upscale type) with 5s detection time and offers input overvoltage protection at 140V AC (RMS). The module is built to sustain a 1000V DC between input channels, and between the inputs and the backplane connection, and provides 100% tested voltage isolation tested at 1200V DC for 1s between input channels and backplane connection. The 1771-TCM has a working temperature range of 0-60 0C at 5-95% non-condensing relative humidity, and it is CSA, UL, and CE-certified.
