The 1771-TCMR control module is a temperature control module for resistance sensors from Allen-Bradley. It can be used in an I/O chassis with the Allen-Bradley 1771-ASB adapter. The 1771-TCMR control module can use multiple resistance sensors that include 100 Ohms platinum (USA), 100 Ohms platinum (European), 120 Ohms nickel, and 10 Ohms copper sensors. The input to the module comes through the Allen-Bradley 1771-RTP-4 remote termination panel. The features available on the 1771-TCMR control module include 8 separate heat/cool temperature control loops, a unique startup algorithm, auto-tuning of the PID loops, 16-bit analog to digital conversion, self-calibration, and input open-circuit detection. The module can be installed in any chassis slot. The first calibration of the module is recommended after 6 months. Subsequent calibrations can be performed once a year.
The 1771-TCMR control module is designed to withstand 1000 Volts DC continuous voltage between input channels and also between the input channels and the backplane connections. The steady-state current for series A 1771-TCMR control modules is 1.3 Amps. The current surge at power turn-on for series B 1771-TCMR control modules is 1.5 Amps. The operating range of temperature for the 1771-TCMR control module is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. Changes in ambient temperature which are greater than 0.5 degrees Celsius per minute can lead to performance degradation.
