The 1771-WS is a weigh scale module that is manufactured and designed by Allen-Bradley. This module belongs to the 1771 series. The Allen-Bradley 1771-WS weigh scale module’s main function is to receive and read values from one or more industrial load cells. When an external power supply is installed, this module can be used with up to 8 load cells. The mechanism that is used is based on the reception of calibration values from the data table. Once received, these values are block-transferred by the module to a PLC-5 processor. The Allen-Bradley 1771-WS weigh scale module operates with a power supply of 5 Volts DC +/- 5%, a continuous backplane input voltage of 40 Volts DC, and a backplane current load of 1.50 Amps at a specific voltage of 1000 Volts DC.

When it comes to the surrounding environment, the Allen-Bradley 1771-WS weigh scale module can be exposed to an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and a humidity range of 0 to 90% without condensation. The Allen-Bradley 1771-WS weigh scale module is highly affected by electrostatic discharge, and under circumstances where electrostatic discharge is present, users need to make sure to handle the module from the front while using an approved wrist strap grounding device or after having touched a grounded object in order to discharge themselves of static before starting the installation process.
