The 1771-sc-OMI16 by Allen-Bradley is a PLC 5 output module which is a 16-point addressing system. The operating input ranges between 74 and 280V AC. Measuring 4.5 x 12.4 x 6.3 inches, it is easy to transport and install, with little or no maintenance work. Rigorous testing at the development phase means that this product can operate in adverse environmental conditions. The ability to connect various terminals at once gives the user the freedom to employ many applications at once, making it ideal for remote processes where human presence might be daunting. The 1771-sc-OMI16 uses the 1771-WN device as the wiring arm with 330 mA of backplane current. Due to its high input voltage, it is advisable to check for any residue voltage that may accumulate which can pose a serious threat to the device and the personnel. This product comes with individual fuses for each terminal. Make sure the power supply is disconnected before replacing the communication panel to avoid loss of data. There is a signal delay of 8A, with 2A used at the operating voltage. The provisions to connect and interface between one or more remote systems is aided by DeviceNet Smart Component Technology which incorporates linear and ring topologies using RS-232 and RS-485 ports for communication. Various applications of the 1771-sc-OMI16 are those processes which have high-speed and process controls. The latest additions to the module have provisions for Ethernet compatibility to generate higher speeds.
