The Allen-Bradley 1772-MJ is an EEPROM memory module. It is a 3K non-volatile module that provides backup memory to Mini-PLC-2/05 processors. Its output current is 4 A at 5V DC, its frequency is 50-60 Hz, and its digital voltage ranges from 10-32V DC. When in an off-state, it has typical signal delays of 29 +/- 8 ms for AC and 30 +/- 7 ms for DC. The 1772-MJ conformally-coated module measures 4.5 x 12.4 x 6.3 inches, weighs 0.3 lbs or 0.1 kg, and uses a 1771-WN wiring arm.
This module should be installed on the bottom of a Mini-PLC-2/05 processor. It is important that you avoid touching the recessed conductors because the static charge can alter the memory and the dirt and oil of the skin can also corrode its metallic surfaces, which will inhibit electrical contact.
When the 1772-MJ is in the remote program mode, you can duplicate and transfer the processor memory from the CMOS RAM to this module. You can also choose from three program modes: you can transfer only when the CMOS RAM is invalid, you can transfer the backup EEPROM automatically to the CMOS RAM, but you cannot transfer the backup EEPROM. You can also use this module as an alternate memory storage module where you can store an alternate program and then download this program to the processor memory. Memory protection is available with the 1772-MJ module by removing one of the jumpers on the module.
