The Allen-Bradley 1785-CH0RAPM is a double remote access paging modem for the PLC 5. A maximum of 4 modems can be supported by a machine or computer system. The modem has 1 status LED per communication channel. Its power requirement is 0.6 A at 5V DC. It provides 2 DH+ / RIO (Data Highway Plus / Remote Input Output) interfaces. The modem weighs 0.1 kg.

The modem also allows the control system to forward alarm conditions and system status messages to alphanumeric pagers and cellular phones. Other features include alarm triggers from binary or integer files, user-defined text messages, multi-pager support (up to 16 users), text messages of up to 100 characters, and system diagnostic pages.
