The 1785-CHBM cartridge is a hot-backup type of memory cartridge in the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation PLC 5 series. It is made to be installed on a PLC 5 processor so that the processor can support a backup operation mode. The 1785-CHBM hot-backup memory cartridge has a memory capacity of 100K words of non-volatile user memory. The 1785-CHBM hot-backup memory cartridge is rated for a maximum operating shock level of 30 g.

The 1785-CHBM ControlNet PLC-5 Hot Back Cartridge Module by Allen-Bradley is a backup module installed on the PLC-5 processor which allows a ControlNet Enabled PLC-5 controller to operate in backup mode. The 1785-CHBM has a non-volatile user memory capacity of 100K words, and its memory can be conferred to a write protection by removing the jumper on the module. The module is built for complete compatibility with the 1785-L20C15, -L40C15, or -L80C5 processors, and meets the CISPR 11: Group 1, Class A (with the appropriate enclosure) emission specifications. The 1785-CHBM has an IEC-rated working temperature range of 0-600 C (32-140 0F) at a relative humidity level of 5-95% without condensation and it is rated for storage at a temperature range of –40-85 0C (–40-185 0F). It is tested and rated to withstand an operational vibration of 2 at 10-500Hz, and an operational shock of 30G without de-rating, and it can withstand a non-operational shock of 50G. it weighs 7.88g and is UL, CE, C-TICK, and CSA-certified.
