The 1785-L80C PLC-5/80C ControlNet Programmable Controller by Allen-Bradley is a 100K word programmable controller installed on the 1771 I/O chassis which directs the processes of field devices and has a maximum I/O capacity of 3072. The module requires a backplane current of 3.3A at 5V DC and it has a maximum heat dissipation of 59 BTU/hour when operational. The controller is designed to function without de-rating at a temperature range between 0 and 60 0C (32 and 140 0F) at a relative humidity range of 5-95% without condensation and it is IEC-tested and rated to withstand 2G of operational vibration at 10-500Hz and a 30G operational shock. The 1785-L80C controller supports the use of the ControlNet hot backup cartridge (1785-CHBM), a battery module (1770-XYC), and a battery-backed memory module (either 1785-ME32, 1785-ME64, or 1785-M100). The 1785-L80C is designed to be compatible with the 1771 intelligent, 8, 16, and 32-point I/O modules, and address I/O modules through the 2-slot, 1-slot, and ½-slot addressing modes. The 1785-L80C has an internal circuit clock/calendar with ±5 min per month accuracy variation at 60 0C, with a timing accuracy of 1 program scan, and has a program scan time of 0.5ms per K word (in bit logic), and 2ms per K word. The controller has an RJ-45 type ControlNet Network Access Port (NAP) with a transfer speed of 5 megabits per second, and a 2-100ms user selectable update time on the network. The 1785-L80C has 99 maximum nodes with a repeater, with 1000m cable link length with 2 nodes and 250m with 48 nodes, and the maximum cable link length with a repeater is 6000m with 2 nodes. The module has communication ports for DH+ and remote I/O networks with transmission rates of 57.6K bit/s, 115.2K bits/s, and 230.4K bits/s, and has a standard I/O scan time of 10ms at 57.6K bits/s to 3ms at 230.4K bits/s. The 1785-L80C is CE, UL, CSA, and C-TICK certified and weighs approximately 3 pounds with an open enclosure style.
