The Bently Nevada 2201/02-02 monitoring system belongs to the 2201 series of continuous vibration monitoring systems from Bently Nevada/General Electric. The 2201/02-02 monitoring system, like other systems in the 2201 family, integrates vibration information from industrial machinery with the process data from the plant. The integration process is done with the help of an Allen-Bradley programmable logic controller known as a PLC-5. The programmable controller mounts on a standard Allen-Bradley 1771 universal I/O chassis. The controller monitors and controls I/O both on resident and remote I/O chassis. The 2201/02-02 can be deployed to monitor continuous vibration for essential and general-purpose machines on an industrial floor.
The Bently Nevada/General Electric 2201/02-02 monitoring system can be used to measure the seismic and vibration information of up to 24 channels. System monitors in the 2201 system provide for 2 levels of alarms that are danger and alert alarms. The 2201/02-02 monitoring system is designed to fit into the Allen-Bradley 1771 mounting rack. The system monitor communicates with the PLC system processor by using block transfer instructions. Additionally, the 2201/02-02 monitoring system, like other system monitors in the 2201 family, scans each of the 24 channels every 40 milliseconds. After the scan, the system monitor provides external communication connections for diagnosis. Lastly, it generates sensor supply voltage. The 2201/02-02 monitoring system has status LEDs which help to monitor its communication with the PLC-5 controller. Note that system status, individual monitor status, and individual channel status are communicated from the system monitor to the controller in a single block transfer.
