PLC-5-25

The Allen-Bradley PLC-5-25 is a Classic PLC-5 Processor. It can be used in a system with centralized or distributed control. For communication, it has 1 DH+ port and 1 Remote I/O (Adapter or Scanner) port. A Remote I/O connection features real-time data exchange between I/O processors and modules, the operator interface, or other host computers. The PLC-5-25 uses Ladder-logic and a Sequential Function Chart (SFC) for controlling and processing data. It offers a flexible and cost-effective means of communication to a wide range of devices. The PLC-5-25 processor has a user memory of 13K words expandable up to 17K or 21K words. It has up to 1024 total I/O (any number of I/O can be inputs or outputs) with complementary 1024 inputs and 1024 outputs. It has 8 (0 – 7) I/O racks for I/O addressing. It requires a backplane current load of 2.5A at 5V and it has an I/O scan time per rack of 10ms at 57.6 kb/s. The PLC-5-25 contains a battery-backed SRAM and EEPROM-based memory module of size 8K (1785-MJ) or 16K (1785-MK). It is installed in the left-most slot of the 1771 I/O chassis and requires one slot. It has up to 17 total I/O chassis with 16 remote I/O. The PLC-5-25 processor has a user-programmable fault response for system troubleshooting and diagnostics which prevents it from going down. It features subprogram calls using a subroutine that is accessible from multiple program files. It includes a time-interrupt routine for examining specific information at specific time intervals. The PLC-5-25 contains a 1785-BCM Control Module and a 1785-BEM Expansion Module as backup processor systems.
