PLC-5-86

The PLC-5-86 (1785-L86B) Enhanced Programmable Controller with protected memory by Allen-Bradley is a high-speed controller installed in a single 1771 I/O chassis slot with an I/O capacity of 3072 and it is used to control the processes of field devices and processing of information. The controller processes I/O information using the 100K words SRAM memory and it can accommodate a total of 93 I/O chassis links with 32 remote chassis per link, and it supports a maximum of 24 I/O racks. The PLC-5-86  requires a backplane current of 3.3A at 5V DC and it offers voltage isolation tested to 500V for 60 seconds between communication ports and between communication ports and relay cartridge tested at 300V for 60s. When operational, it dissipates 17.3W heat and it can withstand an operational shock of 30G and a vibration of 2G at a 10-500Hz frequency.

The PLC-5-86 controller uses the 1785-RC relay cartridge for interface with other devices and it is compatible with the 1771 memory modules. The 1785-L86B supports and processes information from the 8-point, 16-point, 32-point, and intelligent 1771 I/O modules and it sets the hardware address through the 2-slot, 1-slot, and ½-slot addressing modes. It communicates through the 4 Data Highway Plus/Remote I/O communication ports and supports the Ladder Logic, Sequential, and Structured Text programming languages. The PLC-5-86  has a working temperature range between 0 and 60 oC (32 and 140 oF) at 5-95% relative humidity range without condensation and it is stored between –40 and 85 oC (–40 and 185 oF). It weighs approximately 1.42kg and is built to meet CSA, UL, C-TICK and CE standards and applicable specifications.
