The Allen-Bradley 1734-ADNX I/O DeviceNet adapter is a communication device that provides an interface for communicating with and controlling POINT I/O modules on a DeviceNet network. It simultaneously resides on the Subnet and the primary DeviceNet network. On the Subnet, it acts as a scanner and master of the Subnet modules. It also serves as a slave that receives and returns data to DeviceNet masters. This adapter is an essential component in the Bulletin 1734 POINT I/O Module series.
It is fully configurable with POINT I/O modules and DeviceNet devices. It supports both I/O and explicit connections, using I/O mapping to determine data in each connection. Adapter installation and operation are made easy with the Auto Start Mode, and the Auto Catalog Replace feature corrects errors that might occur when the same type of backplane modules are removed and replaced in the wrong location. The 1734-ADNX DeviceNet adapter is a starter module that is installed at the left side of a 1734 system. A Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV) or a Protected Extra Low Voltage (PELV) power supply with 24 Volts DC nominal rating is required to comply with the CE Low Voltage Directives (LVD). For troubleshooting, the 1734-ADNX has 3 red/green status indicators and 2 green power supply status indicators.
