1734-OB4

The 1734-OB4 is a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) module that belongs to the POINT IO product family that is manufactured by Rockwell Automation. This module is a POINT IO 24VDC Discrete Output module that is used to energize or actuate electrical loads and actuators such as Pilot Lamps, Solenoid actuated devices, Relays, Buzzer, Horn, Siren, annunciators and other components.

This module is built with Four (4) 24VDC Sourcing modules. It also has Four (4) Status indicators dedicated for each channel that is used to indicate each channel’s activity. It also has Two (2) Green or Red status indicators for providing Module and Network status feedback.

The required wiring base assembly for this module are 1734-TB or 1734-TBS. The module cannot be operated without these assemblies including a POINT IO communication adapter. It may be used with CompactLogix and ControlLogix controller platforms.

The register size of this Discrete Output module is 1 Byte. Channels 0, 1, 2 and 3 are assigned to Bits 0, 1, 2 and 3 respectively. The remaining bits such as Bit 4, 5, 6 and 7 are not used. This output register can be accessed in the main controller’s register tables.

The Allen-Bradley 1734-OB4 is a POINT IO module with Four (4) non-isolated, sourcing outputs channels. It has a nominal voltage of 24 Volts DC and it has an ON-state voltage range of 10 to 28.8 Volts DC. Its maximum ON-state voltage drop is 0.2 Volts DC. The minimum ON-state current per channel is 1.0 mA and the OFF-state voltage peak is 28.8 Volts DC. The output current rating is 1.0 Amp per output not exceeding 3.0 Amps maximum per module. The 1734-OB4 comes with different indicator lights, 4 yellow for output statuses and 2 green/red for the module and network statuses. The model’s terminal base screw torque mass is 0.8 N-m (7 pounds on an inch) Its power dissipation is 28.8 Volts DC at 1.2 W and the thermal dissipation is greatest at 28.8 Volts DC and 4.1 BTU/hour.

The module’s maximum OFF-state leakage is 0.5 mA and it has an output signal delay for both OFF-ON and ON-OFF of 0.1 milliseconds. The 1734-OB4’s surge current is 2 Amps for 10 milliseconds, repeatable for 3 seconds. It has an external DC power supply current of 16 mA and an isolation voltage of 50 Volts (continuous) tested at 2500 Volts DC for 60 seconds. The dimensions are 56.0 x 12.0 x 75.5 millimeters.
