1734D-IB8XOB8ES

The 1734D-IB8XOB8ES is a member of the Allen-Bradley POINT I/O 1734D module series. It runs on 24V DC, an 8.2-Watt power consumption, and a 2-Watt power dissipation. The 1734D-IB8XOB8ES is DIN-rail mounted with various onboard combinations of I/O points, an integrated communication interface called DeviceNet, a POINTBus expansion port, and a removable termination. The 1734D-IB8XOB8ES allows input and output information status from the consumer and producer technology to be shared amid numerous Logix controllers.

The Allen-Bradley 1734D-IB8XOB8ES comes with 1734-AENT adapters which support connections that are rack-optimized and direct. A rack-optimized connection is a classification of data from more than one input/output module into a single data block which is directed to a single connection at the same rate of data. A direct connection is a real-time transfer of data link between the controller and to whatever slot the module should occupy to reference the data configuration.

I/O Connection to the module is made using the spring clamp terminal. This means that a small flat screwdriver is needed to secure connection of each input wiring. Up to Twelve (12) POINT IO modules may be installed along this module base with integrated I/O. An integrated POINTBus connection terminal is integrated to allow connection of the POINT IO module to the 1734D-IB8XOB8ES.

The integrated DeviceNet communication port of this module also powers the POINTBlock electronics through the DC to DC converter that converts the 24VDC power and generate +5VDC for the POINTBus expansion port that allows expansion of up to 12 POINT I/O module.

The POINTBlock IO module includes a DeviceNet connector, I/O status indicator, Two (2) DeviceNet node switches for 1s and 10s adjustments and remote termination blocks.

The input signal’s ON state voltage range is 10V dc min, 24V dc nominal and 28.8V dc max while the OFF state voltage is 5V dc max. The input channels also has selectable filter times of 0.5ms hardware + (0 - 65ms selectable) for both OFF to ON and ON to OFF transitions. The output’s ON state voltage is 10V dc min, 24V dc nominal and 28.8V dc max. The recommended conductor wire size is for this module is 14 AWG (2.5mm2 ) - 22 AWG (0.25mm2 ) solid or stranded.
