The Allen-Bradley 1400SP PowerMonitor Software package is the ideal solution for applications where the data captured by a PowerMonitor device needs to be displayed in a remote location. Installing this software in a network will enable all the real-time information and data logs of the PowerMonitor to be available for visualization and control from a remote site, by using an Allen-Bradley 1400–DCU communications card as the physical link. The hardware requirements for deploying the Allen-Bradley 1400SP PowerMonitor Software package are a computer station with at least an IBM 80286 processor, a minimum RAM capacity of 256K, a 3 and 1/2” (720 KB or 1.44 MB) floppy disk drive, and 1 or 2 RS–232C serial ports for connecting a PowerMonitor device in each port. An external modem connection would allow communication with facilities located at long distances from the Jobsite via the telephone network, radio links, fiber optic links, or microwave data links.

 

Having a computer loaded with the Allen-Bradley 1400SP PowerMonitor Software package provides an interface for performing tasks like programming the device remotely, displaying the actual data of the variables that are being monitored, activating or deactivating the relay commands, and establishing setpoints for the variables in the system. A useful feature of the 1400SP PowerMonitor Software package is the ability to access the data logs of every variable in the systems, which combines with the analytical tools of computers to give industrial users access to advanced statistical information.
