The Allen-Bradley 1404-DM display module is an optional device that users can purchase and use to configure an Allen-Bradley 1404 master module. The 1404-DM display module is part of the Allen-Bradley Powermonitor 3000 series of display modules. It has 4 keys on the front that let the users navigate between different objects and values on the display screen. The 1404-DM display module can be mounted easily on a 1404 master module in a standard analog meter cutout, and it receives its power signals and communication through shielded 4 twisted-pair cable. The back end of this display module needs to be protected from moisture, dust, dirt, corrosive vapors, and oils with a suitable enclosure. The 1404-DM display module has a gasketed interface between the front of the module and the rear enclosure which gives the module an IP 65 protection rating.

The Allen-Bradley 1404-DM display module can be oriented in any possible position when it is installed as long as the technicians who install it comply with all the mounting requirements for safety and operating standards. The module should be fastened to the enclosure that is at least 2 inches deep with M4 nut lock and washer assemblies that are tightened to a torque rating between 8 and 10 pounds on an inch. When wiring the 1404-DM display module, the maximum recommended cable length is 10 feet. Cables that are longer than 10 feet may be less efficient than the applications that the module is used for require. The module operates best a temperature between -40 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
