The Allen-Bradley 1426-M5E-CNT PowerMonitor 5000 module is a real-time electrical parameter measurement module that is designed to provide the electrical distribution automation and data logging capabilities that are necessary to facilitate energy management in electrical distribution plants from both utilities and industrial facilities. The unit comes in a 96-millimeter casing and it is designed for panel or wall mounting. Like all PowerMonitor 5000 units, the Allen-Bradley 1426-M5E-CNT PowerMonitor 5000 module comes with a built-in EtherNet/IP port for communicating with the user’s local area network (LAN). Additionally, this PowerMonitor 5000 module features a factory-installed ControlNet port. Because it is an open-standard, multi-vendor, industrial device data network that supports scheduled, I/O communication, and unscheduled messaging, the ControlNet network allows for external connections between the PowerMonitor module and devices that are manufactured by other vendors. Both the ControlNet port and the native Ethernet port can be used simultaneously.

Parameters such as the power consumption per hour, amperage, frequency, voltage, reactive power, and the power factor parameters can be monitored effectively and accurately by using the 1426-M5E-CNT PowerMonitor 5000 module. The measurements, logs, and reports generated by the PowerMonitor module are important tools for creating profiles of the connected load and monitoring and controlling power systems. This helps the users to facilitate cost allocation, billing, sub-billing, demand management, demand response, and power quality applications. Only qualified technicians should be allowed to service, install, inspect, and troubleshoot the 1426-M5E-CNT PowerMonitor module to guarantee the best possible operational results. This device is designed for installation inside an electrical enclosure or custom-built control room, so the necessary precautions for installation are up to the final users.
