About 931N-T221
The Allen-Bradley 931N-T221 thermocouple signal converter is a solid-state electronic device that serves as a signal conditioner that is capable of isolating and converting the temperature readings from J or K thermocouples into user-configurable analog current or voltage output signals. Depending on the type of thermocouple it is connected to, the Allen-Bradley 931N-T221 thermocouple signal converter can work with a temperature range from -100 to +1200 degrees Celsius (Type J thermocouple) or from -180 to +1372 degrees Celsius (Type K thermocouple). The minimum measurement span of this signal converter is 50 degrees Celsius. For optimized results, it is recommended to use sensors with a cable resistance lower than 5 kiloohms per wire.
The Allen-Bradley 931N-T221 thermocouple signal converter has a single input channel of the passive type and a single output channel of the active type. It is designed for easy installation, with a 6.1-millimeter wide profile, a rear clip for mounting on any DIN Rail that is available, and a low weight of approximately 70 grams (0.15 pounds). The Allen-Bradley 931N-T221 thermocouple signal converter's wide operating temperature range of -25 to +70 degrees Celsius (-13 to +158 degrees Fahrenheit) also allows for installation in places near high or low-temperature extremes. The output signals are configurable by the final users, via easy-to-operate DIP switches. The allowable output selections are 0 to 20 milliamps and 4 to 20 milliamps current ranges with 0 to 5 Volts, 1 to 5 Volts, 0 to 10 Volts, and 2 to 10 Volts voltage ranges. The required supply voltage of 24 Volts DC ± 30% is easy to obtain from most commercial power sources in the market.
