The Allen-Bradley 931N-X422 bipolar signal splitter is a type of signal conditioner that is used in applications where a bipolar single channel input signal needs to be delivered to 2 different destinations by using 2 output channels that will deliver 2 unipolar signals of equivalent value. The Allen-Bradley 931N-X422 bipolar signal conditioner can receive -23 to +23 milliamps rated current inputs or -11.5 to +11.5 Volts rated voltage inputs. Both unipolar output signals are user-configurable and they can be assigned to transmit via analog current or voltage signals. The current outputs range between 0 and 23 millamps, the voltage output is between 0 and 10 Volts DC. The Allen-Bradley 931N-X422 bipolar signal splitter is provided with galvanic isolation by using a 4-way isolator that keeps the single-channel output electrically separated from the 2-channel outputs and the power source terminals. The isolation voltage of the device is 2.5 kilovolts eff/1 minute.
The Allen-Bradley 931N-X422 bipolar signal splitter uses a supply voltage of 24 Volts DC ± 30% and it has a power consumption of 0.84 Watts typical and 1.2 Watts maximum. The permissible load for use with the current output should be ≤ 300 Ohms per channel and the permissible load for use with the voltage output should be ≥ 10 kiloohms. This solid-state device has a remarkable accuracy rating of <0.05% of its measuring range, providing the end-users with high levels of signal quality. All of the configurations of the device can be done through DIP switches according to the instructions that are specified in the product manual.
