The Allen-Bradley 931S-N392 smart temperature signal converter is a signal conditioner device from the bulletin 193S series signal conditioning device family that is designed to improve the signal quality from PTC and PT100 devices to a control system. by using the principle of transformer coupling, the 931S-N392 signal conditioner can galvanically isolate, convert, and transmit temperature measurements from PTC and PT100 devices to a controller for alarms. The 931S-N392 signal conditioner has a wide voltage supply range of 20 to 264 Volts AC/DC and a maximum current rating of 100 milliAmps at 24 Volts DC.
The 931S-N392 signal conditioner offers 2 kilovolts of 4-way galvanic isolation between its single active input, the 2 outputs, and the power supply which provide reliable output signals by eliminating noises and signal degradation caused by ground loops, noise, and harsh environmental conditions. The 931S-N392 signal conditioner has an active input channel with a configurable input signal range of -200 to 850 degrees Celsius and with the PT100 and PTC input signal types. It has 2 changeover contact relay outputs with 5 Amps of maximum switching current and 250 Volts AC of maximum switching voltage. The 931S-N392 signal conditioner has an accuracy of 0.2% of the Full-Scale Range (FSR) and a step response time that is less than 500 milliseconds.
