The 1783-BMS20CL switch is a 20-port Ethernet switch. This product is part of the Stratix 5700 series from Allen-Bradley and which comes with a Lite firmware. In addition to the standard Lite firmware features, the 1783-BMS20CL switch also supports Device Level Ring (DLR) feature which allows the switch to act as a supervisor or a node on a DLR ring. In supervisor mode, the switch can gather information from the ring and can manage the DLR status and machine-level DLR diagnostics. The supervisor node also provides alternate routes when it detects a ring break. DLR is used in high-performance network applications that cannot tolerate network outage. Of the 20 switch ports, 16 are RJ45 Fast Ethernet ports, 2 are Fast Ethernet combo ports, and the remaining 2 are Fast Ethernet fiber ports.
