The 1783-ZMS4T4E2TGP module by Allen Bradley is an ArmorStratix switch. It is a 5700 Industrial Ethernet Switch with a total of ten (10) ports, which can be broken down into four (4) fast PoE/PoE+ Ethernet ports, four (4) fast M12 D-Code Ethernet ports, and two (2) M12 X-Code Gigabit Ethernet ports. Either a single or a dual power source can be applied to the 1783-ZMS4T4E2TGP, using a cable to provide DC power to the module. This unit has exclusive alarm and connector relays as well. Its ten ports are numbered by GE -1 and GE -2 for the Gigabit ports, and the numbers 1 through 8 for the rest. Except for its PoE ports, the unit can receive 9.6 to 60 Volts of DC input power at 2.9 A maximum, while its alarm receives either 30 Volts DC at 1 A, or at 0.5 A, 48 Volts. Its Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports receive 44 to 57 Volts of DC and its Power over Ethernet + (PoE+) or PoE/PoE+ combination ports should be given an input power of 50 to 57 Volts DC. The average power consumption of the 1783-ZMS4T4E2TGP at 104 degrees Celsius and 24 Volts DC is 11.5 Watts; it should not, however, exceed a maximum of 22 Watts.

For its ground connection, this unit’s wires should be a minimum of 12 AWG in size and must be stranded copper. Its Ethernet connection wires must be IP67 rated, M12 D-code or X-code connectors according to certain standards. It has a maximum ground terminal screw torque of 10 inch-pound (1.13 N-m), weighing around 7.19 pounds (3 kilograms).

This unit’s surrounding environment should not generally exceed temperatures of 140 degrees Fahrenheit, or fall below -40 degrees Fahrenheit (60 and -40 degrees Celsius). It can withstand humidities relative to itself of 5 to 95% without condensing. It can also withstand 2 g at 10 to 500 Hertz of vibrations. Its operating and nonoperating shocks are 15 and 30 g, respectively, and it has Class A emissions.
