The 6181P-17A2SW71DC is an industrial computer with a 17-inch touchscreen display. It has a 5:4 aluminum bezel and an internal storage of 32GB SLC Solid state storage. It is manufactured by Allen Bradley and features a glass front and multi-touch PCAP touchscreens; it supports up to two simultaneous touches with gesture support, such as pinch to zoom. These touchscreens are also responsive when wearing certain gloves. The touchscreen does not require recalibration, as they are calibrated in the factory prior to being shipped out. The computer must be installed with proper grounding so that the static discharges are reduced in the dry environments. There should be sufficient airflow and cooling for the computer to maintain an ambient operating temperature in the range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius. A fan or a heat exchanger may also be used with this module in order to ensure that it is adequately cooling.  The minimum clearances for this module should be maintained for proper airflow, as the computers themselves generate heat, which this needs to be dissipated to ensure longer life expectancy of the computer.

The 6181P-17A2SW71DC is 449 millimeters (17.68 inches) long, 355 millimeters (13.97 inches) in height and 103 millimeters (4.06 inches) in width. To prepare for the installation process of the computer, first remove and switch off the electrical power that is connected to this computer.  Make sure the minimum clearance requirements are met and that the cutouts are accurate and will match the necessary dimensions (the cutout dimensions being 329 millimeters x 424 millimeters). Then attach the cables to the computer. Ensure that the sealing gasket is properly placed on the computer; place the computer in the cutout, then slide the mounting clips in the holes. Hand-tighten the mounting clips, starting from the top middle and bottom middle, then moving to the right top and left bottom, left top and right bottom, bottom right and bottom left, and top right and top left, in that order. The clips are to be tightened with a torque of 1.35 N-m. Always verify correct installation before turning on the supply to the system.
