The Dataliner DL10 message display module known as the 2706-A21C module is designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. The Dataliner product series is part of the extended Panelview product family that offers high-performance components such as graphics terminals, display modules, logic modules, and monitors. The series provides a choice of message displays such as 1-line, 2-line, or 4-line versions. The 2706-A21C display meets various industrial standards and regulations related to safety and emissions. The product is CE-certified and it provides 2 different mounting options: panel mounting and enclosure mounting. The display is programmed to operate in 2 operational modes: slave mode and terminal mode. All of the communication with the host device is performed through the integrated communication ports. These communication ports include an RS-232 port for single device communication and an RS-422 for multi-drop serial communication. This type of display can be programmed by different devices and it should be mounted in places where air flow is adequate. The users should consider that the 2706-A21C display module requires at least 1.5 inches (38 millimeters) of clearance for the necessary maintenance, wiring, and mounting. The users can install the display easily and without the use of special tools.

The 2706-A21C display module operates on a 120 Volts AC power source and it has a type 12/13 NEMA rated enclosure. In addition to that, the unit has a power consumption rating of 55 Volt-Amps and a 50 to 60 input frequency. The display module supports ASCII characters and symbols. This DL10 display module incorporates Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) technology that provides bright and intense light with high contrast. Due to this, the text messages and alarms presented on the display module are visible from up to 240 feet (73 meters) away. The 2706-A21C display module delivers messages in 2 lines and it should be mentioned that each line supports up to 16 characters. The display size of this model is 14.4 x 4.4 inches (365.7 x 111.7 millimeters).
