The Allen-Bradley 2706-B13C8 terminal is a Dataliner message display terminal which has a vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) screen with dimensions of 14.4 x 14.4 inches. It is available in a 1-line configuration with a parallel port, it can display up to 20 characters per line, it has 8 KB of RAM, and it runs on 110 to 120 Volts AC of input power. The 2706-B13C8 message display terminal is designed to receive slave addresses, message triggers, and variable data from an SLC or PLC module. For communication, it has an RS-422 port for file transfer and an RS-232 port for file upload and download. It can display a wide variety of symbols and characters that are readable at up to 30 feet away. Its panel or enclosure has a NEMA Type 12 or 13 rating.

The 2706-B13C8 message display terminal has capabilities such as dynamic message chaining and invisible messages. Parallel data lines allow the 2706-B13C8 terminal to accept 5 to 30 Volts DC and 120 Volts AC input signals. It performs self-testing and diagnostics during power-on and it has autorun features. Messages can be configured manually by attaching an external keyboard or extra terminal. It has a real-time clock that keeps the current date and time and it can create a backup and record the occurrence and sequence of messages. External devices such as printers, slave displays, and alarms can be connected. The 2706-B13C8 message display terminal is highly customizable and it can deliver alarms and messages in an industrial environment.
