The 2706-B41J31 Allen-Bradley DataLiner is part of the DL20 series. It is a message display device that is used to provide message readout, capable of storing up to 1022 messages configured using a variety of input devices such as 2706-NK1 or -NK2 keyboards, industrial terminals, DEC VT series terminals, and RS232 compliant terminals. The 2706-B41J31 is powered by an external supply voltage of 120 VAC. The 2706-B41J31 has a Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) that is capable of displaying up to Four (4) lines of text with each line of text composed of up to 20 characters. Character support includes Uppercase and lowercase letters, Punctuation marks, and a variety of special symbols. With the VFD type display, messages can be read as far as 25 feet or 7.6 meters. The 2706-B41J31 is provided with One (1) Normally Open (N.O.) and One (1) Normally Closed (N.C.) dry contact outputs located at terminals 1, 2, and 3 with terminal 2 being common. This message display supports the serial communication interface as it comes with RS232 and RS422 terminals which can be used by the device to receive input messages and source of external message triggers. In addition, the same message trigger functions can be delivered via the Parallel input port. This Parallel port accepts either binary or BCD message inputs.

The 2706-B41J31’s hardware specifications include 128 KB of flash memory, a Y2K-compliant real-time clock with a replaceable battery, and isolated I/O ports. The ports are a parallel port, an IBM keyboard port, an RS-485 port, and an RS-232 port. The RS-232 port has an auto-wakeup feature that allows for offline programming. The 2706-B41J31 can also connect with PLCs and SLCs through Channel 0 ports. The 2706-B41J31 runs on AC power and is CE, UL, and CUL-certified.
