The Allen-Bradley 2706-B43J16G Dataliner Message Display Terminal is a 4-line by 20-character VFD message display unit that belongs to the Allen-Bradley Dataliner (DL20) message display family. It is designed to display message triggers and prompts from a programmable logic controller or from computers across the factory floor. This terminal features an alpha-numeric Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) text display that can be read clearly from a distance of up to 25 feet (7.6 meters) away, and it is capable of displaying upper and lower case letters, punctuation marks, and special symbols. The 2706-B43J16G Message Display Terminal can be configured via a connected optional keyboard (the 2706-NK1 or -NK2 keyboard), an integral RS-232 port, or a dumb terminal, and it offers easy-to-follow display prompts which provide easy configuration and setup processes.
The 2706-B43J16G Terminal also offers offline message programming via the highly intuitive and menu-driven DL20 Offline Programming Software (2706-NP3) that supports compatible computers with at least 640 KB of RAM. The 2706-B43J16G Terminal is AC powered and it comes with an integral power supply with 85 to 264 Volt AC operating voltage and 45 Volt-Amps (VA) of maximum power output. This terminal comes with a standard RS-232 and RS-422 Serial input/output port with adjustable baud rates, and they accept both serial commands and variable message data. The 2706-B43J16G Terminal comes with a 16 KB battery-backed EEPROM unit for message storage, and this terminal also supports offline message storage via the Allen-Bradley Data Recorder (the 1770-SA, -SB) or a Disk (during offline software programming). The 2706-B43J16G Terminal comes with a NEMA 12/13 enclosure rating, and it has a factory rated operating ambient temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius.
