The 2706-D21J2 DL5 Data Liner Display by Allen-Bradley is an interactive message display terminal with a single line display terminal and a display size of 16 uppercase-only, alpha-numeric characters, with 2KB of EEPROM which can store up to 94 message blocks. It has a 14-segment Vacuum Fluorescence Display (VFD) with a maximum viewing display distance of 3 meters (10 feet). The 2706-D21J2 is powered by a DC power supply, and it has a voltage rating of 12 to 24 Volts DC, with a 3W minimum power and 5% ripple in input voltage. It has an operational and inrush current of 250mA (300mA inrush) at 12 Volts DC, and 125mA (300mA inrush) at 24 Volts DC.
The 2706-D21J2 DL5 has 2 distinct ports, which cannot be simultaneously operated but can be switched to either of the two (parallel and serial port) via a DIP switch. The parallel port has 16 input lines and 1 parallel port select input. The parallel port also has a data input voltage range of 5 to 24 Volts DC. The 2706-D21J2 has a unique data input current of 3.0mA at 5 Volts DC, 7.3mA at 12 Volts DC, and 14.6mA at 24 Volts DC. It is programmed offline using the serial RS-232 programming port. It has a NEMA 12, 13, and 4 enclosure rating, and is built to function optimally at a temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius (32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit) at 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity. It has an approximate weight of 1.3 kilograms (3.0 pounds) and dimensions of 79.3 x 159 x 109 millimeters (3.12 x 6.25 x 4.31 inches).
The Allen Bradley DataLiner Message Display offer the hardware and customization needed for effective factory-wide display. The DataLiner family features the DL5, DL10, DL20, DL30, DL40, DL40P, and DL50 marquee product lines. These products feature Vacuum Fluorescent, Red, or Tri-Color displays with from 1 to 5 lines of characters. There are parallel ports that provide both RS-232 and RS-485 communication. DataLiners allow for viewing of messages up to 240 feet away. These highly compatible and customizable message displays effectively deliver messages and alarms across the warehouse floors.
