The Allen-Bradley 2706-E43J32 is a PanelView DataLiner DL40 Plus message display. The four lines of text, with up to 20 characters per line, can be shown on its Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD). You can use standard and extended ASCII characters to display texts in different languages like German, Spanish, and French. Cyrillic characters can also be displayed, but you need to set this up manually because this feature is optional. The 2706-E43J32 display also comes with a 32 KB RAM that will let you save your messages and it has an enclosure rating of NEMA Type 12 or 13. The entire 2706-E43J32 has a total measurement of 6.2 x 14.4 x 4.9 inches. You can view messages displayed from as far as 25 feet away. Two communication ports can be found on the 2706-E43J32 display, namely an RS-232 port and an RS-485 port, with the RS-232 port allowing point-to-point slave display communications and auto wake-up feature when programming offline. The display also comes with a battery-backed real-time clock. A parallel port is available with the 2706-E43J32, and this port handles 16 data-input lines and 4 strobe lines and is backed with a 12V DC internal power supply. You can connect a DL10 and a DL50 to this display if you want to have a multiple display system. A keyboard can be connected directly to this display because it has an IBM PC keyboard port. Multiple run modes available with this display are message/variable run mode, message/variable slave run mode, bit trigger run mode, and message list run mode. This display also has front-panel push buttons that let you configure the display and select the mode of operation.
