The Allen-Bradley 2706-E43J32B1 is a PanelView DataLiner DL40 Plus series message display. It consists of a Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) that allows you to show up to 4 lines of text with up to 20 characters in each line. Each 5 x 7 dot matrix character measures 11.3 millimeters and you can use standard or extended ASCII characters. The extended ASCII characters allow you to display text in different languages and Cyrillic characters. You can view the text displayed from as far as 7.62 meters away. The 2706-E43J32B1 two communication ports, namely an RS-232 port and an RS-485 port, and a keyboard can be directly connected to it due to its IBM PC keyboard port. This display also has remote I/O communication ports and it has a NEMA Type 12 or 13 enclosure rating. The entire 2706-E43J32B1 display measures 6.2 x 14.4 x 4.9 inches and has a shipping weight of 4.2 kg.

You can have a multiple display system since the 2706-E43J32B1 display can be connected to DL10 or DL50 slaves. In case of faults, you will be alerted because it has diagnostic and alarm handling functions. This display has a real-time clock that is fully compliant with the year 2000. A 32 KB RAM dedicated to storing messages is present with this display. Offline programming is possible with this display because of the auto-wakeup feature of the RS-232 port. Power failures are not an issue because messages being edited during a power failure can easily be recovered when power returns.

Its remote I/O communication ports can support single transfers and block transfers and it comes with a communication rate of 57.6, 115.2, or 230.4 kbps.
