The Allen-Bradley 2706-E43J64 is a PanelView DataLiner DL40 series message display. This Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) has the capacity to show up to 4 lines of text with 20 characters in each line. Standard and extended ASCII input types are available for your use and so is a 5 x 7 dot matrix character type. The extended ASCII input also allows you to display text in foreign languages, such as French, German, and Spanish. Optional Cyrillic characters are also available. You can connect a keyboard to this display since an IBM PC keyboard port is available. A 64 KB message memory is also available with this display, as well as RS-232 and RS-485 communication ports. The parallel port that comes with this display has 16 data-input lines and 4 strobe lines with a 12 Volts DC internal power supply. The 2706-E43J64 display comes with an enclosure rating of NEMA Type 12 or 13 and has a total measurement of 6.2 x 14.4 x 4.9 inches.

Users can choose among different run modes available with the 2706-E43J64 display, particularly bit trigger run mode, message/variable slave run mode, message/variable run mode, and message list run mode. Its compatibility with other DataLiner message displays, like the DL10 and DL50 slaves, lets users expand their displays to a multiple display system. The display can detect faults and alert users to it through its diagnostic and alarm handling functions. It also comes with front panel push buttons that let users acknowledge messages and configure the display. Additional EEPROM to save messages can be also installed. The 2706-E43J64 has an input voltage of 85 to 264 Volts AC at 47 to 63 Hertz. The non-operating temperature of this display ranges from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius while its operating temperature ranges from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius.
