The Allen-Bradley 2706-LV2S Dataliner Plus Slave Message Display Terminal is a 2-line message display terminal from the Dataliner (DL40) Plus message display family that is designed to receive messages from host devices, which can be Dataliner DL40 Plus Master Displays, PanelView Terminals, Programmable controllers, or a personal computer. This device is designed for a panel mounting configuration in an industrial environment, and it is also ideal for NEMA Type 4, 4X, 12, and 13 (IP65/IP54) rated enclosure installations. The 2706-LV2S Terminal is similar to the standard DL40 Plus Terminals in many ways, except it does not support keyboard configuration, remote I/O ports, buttons on the front panel, or LED indicators. The 2706-LV2S Terminal offers 4 operating modes (the DL Slave Mode, Terminal Mode, PanelView Slave Mode, and the Diagnostic Mode) within a single compact unit, and it comes with a serial communication port which can be configured with a DIP switch.

In the DL Slave mode, one or more 2706-LV2S Terminals can be connected to a Dataliner DL40 Plus Master Display Terminal via an RS-485 serial link, and each 2706-LV2S Terminal that is connected can be addressed individually to display the only message that is sent to a specific address. The 2706-LV2S Terminal offers text message displays in a 2-line by 20-character display, and it offers a clear message display at a maximum distance of 7.6 meters (25 feet). The 2706-LV2S Terminal has a built-in power supply with a 100 to 240 Volts AC operating input voltage range and a maximum power output rating of 60 Volt-Amps. The 2706-LV2S Terminal can communicate with host devices via a built-in RS-232/RS-485 Serial communication interface, and it offers adjustable baud rates that can be configured with a DIP switch. The 2706-LV2S Terminal has an operating temperature range between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius and an average shipping weight of 1.6 kilograms.
