The 2706-LV4S Dataliner Plus Slave Message Display Terminal is an industrial message display slave terminal made by Allen-Bradley to display messages from host devices. This terminal can receive and display messages from a personal computer, a Dataliner (DL40) Plus master terminal, a programmable controller, or a PanleView terminal. The 2706-LV4S Terminal, like every DL40 Plus slave message terminal, differs from the DL40 Plus Master display terminals because it does not have parallel/Remote I/O ports, LED indicators, front panel buttons, or a keyboard port. It supports 4 operating modes which include the Dataliner slave mode, terminal mode, PanelView slave mode, and the diagnostics mode. In the DL slave mode, multiple 2706-LV4S Terminals can receive address-specific messages from a single DL40 Plus Master Device or an enhanced Panelview terminal via a serial RS-232/RS-485 data link, and in the PanelView slave mode, it can receive and display the text sent to the PanelView PV550, 600, 900, 1000, or 1400 terminal printer ports.

The Allen-Bradley 2706-LV4S Terminals come with a built-in fused 100 to 240 Volts AC power supply, and it requires 100 to 240 Volts AC power at 47 to 63 Hertz for operation. it has a maximum operating current rating of 0.25 Amps and a total power rating of 60 Volt-Amps. The 2706-LV4S Terminal displays receive messages in a 4-line by 20-character VFD text display format, and it has a rated maximum display distance of 25 feet (7.6 meters). It communicates with host devices via an integral RS-232/RS-485 interface, which supports odd, even, or no parity (7-bit or 8-bit) data formats. The 2706-LV4S Terminal is designed with a NEMA Type 13, 12, 4, and 4X rated protective enclosure, and it has an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius.
