The Allen-Bradley 2707-M232P3 is a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) interface that is compatible for use with PLC-5 and SLC 500 controllers. This device is specifically a DTAM Micro interface which permits operators and user to access PLC data for control and data manipulation purposes.

The 2707-M232P3 has built-in RS232 communication interface that is utilized to initiate data exchange between partner controllers. This communication port supports point-to-point configuration with PLC5 and SLC500 controllers specifically, SLC 5/03, 5/04 and 5/05. This DTAM Micro Interface has built-in memory allowing storage of communications protocol configuration, custom designed screens wherein up to 244 screen can be saved.

The 2707-M232P3 is also compatible for use in applications that require recipe operations. With this recipe type operation support, maximum of 10 non-sequential register addresses per screen may be downloaded at a time. Similarly, the DTAM Micro interface permits monitoring and modification of data files residing at the PLC5 and SLC500 memory.

The 2707-M232P3 has an embedded LCD display screen. This screen is capable of displaying Two (2) lines of information with each line able to display up to 20 Characters. Operators and users may interact and perform necessary functions and commands through the embedded keypad that is composed of Eight 98) function keys, numerical keypad, navigational keypad and confirmation buttons. A LED indicator is also provided to provide status feedback regarding the interface’ self-diagnostic tests.

The 2707-M232P3 is powered by an external supply voltage of 24VDC, terminated to the DTAM’s power terminals. Optionally, an AC to DC adapter may be used to power this device.

The 2707-M232P3 input interface are the sealed membrane, tactile feedback keypad with numerical, navigational, and 8 functional keys (F1 to F8), and an operational force of 453G, with about 1 million operational cycles. The 2707-M232P3 has a based-configured RS-232 serial communication port, with 15m (50ft) of maximum connection distance, which allows for point-to-point communication with the Allen-Bradley PLC-5, SLC-5, and the MicroLogix 1000 devices. It comes with 6 switches which allow for various operational settings. The 2707-M232P3 has a non-removable power connector (terminal base screw) which allows for connection of 24V DC power to the terminal and it has an operating input voltage of 18-30V DC, at a 200mA maximum input current and its operating temperature range is 0-55o C (32-131 Deg. Fahrenheit), with relative humidity limits of 5-95% without condensation, and it can be stored in a range of -20-70 Deg. Celsius (-4-158 Deg. Fahrenheit). The 2707-M232P3 is built to withstand an operating shock of 30G, and it weighs approximately 0.45Kg (1lb), with net dimensions of 99.1mm x 137.2mm x 45.7mm (3.9in x 5.4in x 1.8in).
