The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 2707-V40P2N operator interface comes from DTAM Plus product line (Bulletin 2707) that offers a very functional and flexible interface solution for processors such as a PLC or SLC. The operator interface enables the users to monitor and manipulate relevant data and parameters directly from the plant floor. The 2707-V40P2N product is a message display that could be connected to any processor from the SLC family either through a DH-485 network or via point-to-point modes. Besides that, the PLC-5 processors can establish communication via remote I/O or DF1 and through RS-232/RS-422 Channel 0 and the remote I/O can also communicate with the 1747-SN sub scanner. The module features 85 to 265 Volts AC power supply voltage at 47 to 440 Hertz or 110 to 300 Volts DC and a 300 milliAmps maximum current/fuse with ½ Amp. In addition to that, the communication ports and printer ports of the module are isolated for 500 Volts. The 2707-V40P2N is made for communication over a broadband network in a factory or warehouse. Its recipe-type functions make it easy to change and modify data blocks.

The 2707-V40P2N message display has 4 lines for text and it can accept up to 20 characters. The display has 40 K of memory (244 screens of data) and it operates on 24 Volts DC power source. The display shows information in special data tables and it can also show the current conditions of the alarm and lead the users to perform a series of different tasks. The 2707-V40P2N interface module has a vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) and a very good NEMA Type 4X rated enclosure, even though this kind of enclosure is fitted only for indoor use. The size of the 2707-V40P2N module display is 33 millimeters (1.3 inches) x 99 millimeters (3.9 inches) and the size of space for each character is 4.8 millimeters (0.19 inches) x 3 millimeters (0.12 inches). The keypad of this interface module has 24 function keys and its membrane is sealed and embossed. The other features include dome tactile feedback made from stainless steel and 1 million cycles of operational life. Also, the module has an ASCII character input and a clock in real-time. As far as the physical features, the 2707-V40P2N module has an RS-232C printer port, an RS-232C/RS-485 communication port, and LED indicators for status. In regard to environmental conditions, the drive has an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) and the storage temperature of -20 to 85 degrees Celsius (-4 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit). Besides that, the drive can work in locations where the relative humidity range is 5 to 95% (non-condensing).
