The Allen-Bradley 2711-TA1 is a PanelView 1200 operator terminal. This operator terminal is a Touch operated device that comes with a Amber Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) display that supports clip mounting. Typically termed as Human Machine Interface, the 2711-TA1 enables factory-floor level visualization and control of the machine or process from a central, convenient location. It integrates data from partner Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) or Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC) and permits custom defined representation of these data. Process operator or machine users do not need to locally monitor and operate field device. With the utilization of the 2711-TA1, plant personnel may observe the process through the 9-inch monochrome display and input the necessary control actions by directly touching objects for modification. It has a reliable touchscreen interface as it comes with a total of 120 touch cells, with individual touch cell size of 2 x 8 mm wide. This operator terminal is specifically made in compatibility with PLC 5 series such as PLC-5/11, 5/15, 5/20, 5/25, 5/30, 5/40, 5/60 and 5/250 processors. It also supports PLC-5/10, PLC-3 and PLC-3/10 and PLC-2 processors via 1771-SN or 1772-SD2. It supports SLC5/02 with the use of 1747-SN. It is also compatible with 6008-SI IBM PC I/O Scanner, 6008-SV VME I/O Scanner, and 6008-SQ DEC Q-BUS I/O Scanner. To communicate with the mentioned controllers and components, the 2711-TA1 has a built-in Remote I/O (RIO) communication interface for multi-node communication following daisy-chain topology. It also has an RS232 interface for point-to-point communication. Both ports may be used for program upload and download.

The power supply type can switch to an automatic setting made by the PanelView 1200 terminal to match the available power supply.
