The 2711E-T10C6 is an Allen-Bradley operator terminal that is part of PanelView 1000e product bulletin. This operator terminal functions as a Human Machine Interface (HMI) device that is equipped with a colored graphic display screen used for process monitoring and analog resistive Touchscreen that acts as the operator control interface.

This significantly cuts engineering time as HMI application can be developed while waiting for the actual hardware to be delivered and installed.

The 2711E-T10C6 screen is a 16 bit color display with diagonal measurement of 10.4-inches. The colored display is ideal for implementing color coded animations for ease of identifying the operational status of individual devices and the entire machine or process. It comes with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. This TFT active matrix display has a replaceable backlight with adjustable brightness and screen saver configurations. These adjustments help to prolong the lifespan of the screen especially if the operator terminal has a considerable amount of idle time.

Control interface is provided by the touchscreen interface with actuation lifespan of 1 million presses. This provides a convenient method of operator interaction as button assignments are not required to be memorized.

The 2711E-T10C6 comes with an built-in Data Highway Plus (DH+) / Remote I/O communication interfaces. These are separate protocol with typical communication interfaces. Both uses Three (3) wire cable, particularly the Allen-Bradley 1771-Cd or Belden 9463 (blue hose) cable. Cables 1 and 3 are interchanged to implement RIO or Data Highway Plus with cable cable #2, acting as shield. Both these protocol are support high-speed communication rate and multi-node communication.

The 2711E-T10C6 features a 128 KB battery-backed static RAM that stores alarm status and history, the terminal configuration parameters, and all other retentive data. It operates in the configure (setup) and run (execute) modes. The terminal display intensity can be increased or decreased in the configure mode. Switch to the run mode to monitor and manage applications and allow communication between the terminal and control system. This tool also lets the user run several apps at once and quickly transfer information between apps. The 2711E-T10C6 touchscreen terminal uses an analog-resistive touchscreen providing greater flexibility in screen design. It offers photographic imported graphics from a 256-color palette converted to 16 colors in a .bmp and .dxf file. This allows input objects in pixel graphics format to be arranged and placed anywhere on the screen and be in any size (40x40 pixels minimum). These objects activate certain input functions and can also be configured to make a beeping sound when touched.
