About 2711-K5A15

The 2711-K5A15 by Allen Bradley is a Panelview 550 Series modules. Although this module has since been discontinued, it is still a rugged Panelview terminal, designed to communicate with different types of controllers (PLC and SLC) over various networks or through serial communication methods. The 2711-K5A15 has an input voltage of 85 to 264 Volts AC at a frequency greater than 47 but less than 63 Hertz. On average, this module consumes 55 VA at its maximum power consumption. This module should not be operated in a temperature zone higher than 131 degrees Fahrenheit (55 degrees Celsius) or lower than 32 degrees Fahrenheit (or 0 degrees Celsius). While in storage, it should be kept in an atmosphere between -4 and 158 degrees Fahrenheit (or -20 to 70 degrees Celsius). The 2711-K5A15 will dissipate around 20 Watts of heat (or 69 BTU per hour). At up to 2000 Hertz, the 2711-K5A15 can withstand an operational vibration of 2 g.

In order to maximize this module’s flexibility, it should be mounted lower than 2000 meters. While operating, it should not be subjected to a shock greater than 30 g, or 50 g while not operating. The 2711-K5A15 is rated for a number of different enclosures, including NEMA Type 4X for exclusive indoor use. Other enclosure ratings include IEC IP54, IP65, and NEMA Types 12 and 13. This module is a keypad-only input type module. Its 10 function keys (marked F1 through F10) allow the user to input important data, which will then be time-stamped by this module’s real-time clock. This clock is backed by batteries which are replaceable in the field. The keypad of the 2711-K5A15 is made of stainless steel; the keys have a domed membrane type finish. This module does have a screen, though it cannot be used for touch input. Its display has a 4.75 x 2.38 inch approximated LCD display area in a blue monochrome. The resolution is around 256 x 128. This module also has an LED backlight to light up the module, which should be replaced around every 100,000 hours. The 2711-K5A15 weighs around 3 pounds and measures roughly 7 x 11 x 5 inches.
