The Allen-Bradley 2711-K5A16 is a component product of the Allen-Bradley PanelView Standard Operator Terminals. This electronic hardware is a visualization component that enables real-time interaction between process or machine and plant operators, contributing to a more efficient and accurate operation of the system. The 2711-K5A16 is typically paired to a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) as the operator terminal only provides visualization and does not hold logic program within its user memory.

The2-K5A16 is equipped with 170 KB application runtime which is also known as the device’ Random Access Memory (RAM). For storage of files such as application, logs, trends the non-volatile memory amounting to 240 KB is used. These memory allocations are not configurable and automatically utilized by the operator terminal.

This 2711-K5A16 has a built-in display screen with diagonal size of 5.5-inch in monochrome display. It comes with an internally installed backlight engineered to operate up to 100,000 hrs. For operation and interaction to the control system, the 2711-K5A16 is equipped with a keypad assembly that is used as the input mechanism. The keypad assembly is composed of Ten (10) function keys, numeric and navigation keys.

The operator terminal is energized with an input voltage range of 85 to 264VAC. The device’ internal memory is expandable with the use of an ATA memory card with available memory range of 2MB to 32 flash memory.

The 2711-K5A16 unit is an obsolete Panelview 550 Terminal that is manufactured by Allen Bradley. This interface module contains an RS-232 DF1 communication port, as well as an RS-232 Printer and Download port. This module has 170 kilobyte RAM and 240-kilobyte nonvolatile memory. This module is capable of triggering alarms and sending alarm banners to the display screen. This feature allows the module to alert the operators to any dangerous or fault conditions.

Its battery powered clock will stamp important data with a date and time.

This module’s main input is via the embedded keypad assembly. This module’s F1 through F10 keys allow the user to load whatever information is necessary into the module. It also contains an additional numeric keypad, for further input purposes.
