Allen Bradley’s 2711-K5A1L1 Panelview is an obsolete operator interface terminal (or HMI- Human Machine Interface) that provides a machine user with a means to input relevant data and commands. One of the features that the 2711-K5A1L1 contains is a real-time clock that is backed by batteries and that will timestamp all of the user’s crucial data. Its extensive language support of up to 46 different languages and its vivid blue LCD display screen are both important features for simplified information input. The screen is 5.5 inches across diagonally and is a monochrome display, lit up by a replaceable LED backlight with an average lifespan around 100,000 hours. The user may input information into this system with its stainless-steel domed membrane numeric keypad and its function keys ranging from F1, all the way up to F10.

It has several ports, one of which is a Remote Input/Output (I/O) communication port; this port supports block data transfer as well as discrete data transfer. The 2711-K5A1L1 also contains an RS-232 printer port, which does require a 2711-NC13 communication cable or cables. Its input power can range anywhere from 18 to 30 Volts of DC power, consuming around 18 Watts at maximum (0.75 Amps at 24 Volts DC). Its memory consists of 170 kilobytes of application runtime memory with an additional 240 kilobytes of Flash memory (for bitmaps, text, and application objects). The 2711-K5A1L1 is rated for a number of enclosures, include NEMA type 12, 13, and 4X.
