The Allen-Bradley 2711-K5A8 is a PanelView Standard operator terminal. It has an embedded DH+ and RS232 communication port used for exchanging data between SLC and PLC controllers. The DH+ communication port allows implementation of multi-node topology and uses the Belden 9463 cable. The RS-232 printer port enables communication with an alarm printer for printing of logs and alarm history.

The 2711-K5A8 keypad offers functional control through 10 function keys, Numeric keys and navigation keys. For the users who wish to use a different bezel than the standard model, a stainless-steel rim upgrade option is also available.

The 2711-K5A8 keypad has a display size of 5.5 inches and 240 KB non-volatile memory and 170 KB of Random Access Memory (RAM). The keypad can be removed from Allen-Bradley PanelView Standard 550 terminals according to troubleshooting requirements which may require the replacement or repair of the 2711-K5A8 keypad module.

Process or machine operators interacts with the process using the embedded keypad that is composed of Ten (10) function keys, numeric and navigation keys. The function keys may be assigned with variable assignments such as global and local function. The numeric keys allow entry of analog variable and constants while the navigation buttons are used for screen and object selection.

Process is monitored through the monochrome 5.5 inch display screen with display area of 120 x 60 mm (4.75 x 2.38 in.) and resolution of 256 x 128 pixels. This screen comes with an internal backlight that is designed to operate up to 100,000 hrs.

Install the 2711-K5A8 in a NEMA Type 12/13, 4X (Indoor use only), IP54 and IP65 or any equivalent rated enclosures to ensure that the HMI is device is protected against dust, dirt, corrosive and combustible gases. Observe appropriate panel spacing of 2 inches on all sides of the device for proper heat ventilation and promoting natural air flow.

The 2711-K5A8 rated power supply input range is 85-264V AC, with a frequency of 47-63 Hz. The Operator terminal’s built-in Random Access Memory (RAM) is 170KB and an expandable 240KB non-volatile memory.
