The discontinued Allen Bradley PanelView 600 2711-K6C16 is an operator terminal that enables the user to interface with their machine. This HMI has a 5 in. Color Display. This PanelView allows the user to connect to automation controllers via the one of the embedded RS-232 interface that supports DF1 protocol. Additionally, it has a secondary RS232 port used for Printer communication and Downloading of PanelView applications. This communication port is compatible with the 2711-NC14 communication cable.
The user is able to control the HMI using the Keypad to input information and data. This unit is powered using 85-264 VAC power. This unit has 240 KB non-volatile memory and 140KB Random Access (runtime) memory.
The approximate shipping weight and dimensions are 6 lbs. and 14 x 11 x 8 in. The RS-232 (DF1) port may be used to communicate with SLC 500, PLC-5, or MicroLogix controller that supports Full Duplex communication. DF1 is a proprietary Allen-Bradley master/slave protocol used to transport information over a serial data communications RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 interface. DF1 is used for applications requiring messaging to and from Allen-Bradley controllers and other equipment. The DF1 port on the PanelView terminal is a 9-pin, male, RS-232 connector. The RS-232 Printer port can be used to transfer applications between a computer and the terminal, or to connect a printer.
The 2711-K6C16 is a compact electronic device which features a colored display screen of 5-inch in diagonal size and resolution of 320 x 234. The colored graphic display offers distinct advantage over monochrome terminals as a colored screen may implement color coded displays and animation, depicting additional information such as status of device and operation as well as critically of alarm.
The 2711-K6C16 is operated through the embedded keypad assembly that is made of 10 function keys (F1…F10), navigation keys and numeric buttons. The function keys are configurable for local and global assignments while the numeric keys permit modification of values. The navigation keys are generally used for object and icon selection.
