The Allen-Bradley 2711-K6C3L1 is a Human Machine Interface (HMI) that is part of the PanelView 600 product family. This operator terminal permits real-time access of the important measuring and control areas of the process or machine, enabling a more efficient control method. This operator terminal supports installation near (local) or remote to the controlled application.

For process data exchange, the 2711-K6C3L1 comes with a DH-485 communication port that acts as the primary communication interface of the device. It supports direct connection to SLC500 and PLC5 controllers as well as MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix systems via a separate communication option card. It is also built with a 9-pin sub-D interface RS232 port that is primarily used for communicating with alarm and events printers.

The 2711-K6C3L1 comes with a colored display screen specifically, an Active Matrix Thin-Film Resistor (TFT) with Cold Cathode Fluorescent (CCF) Backlight. This HMI screen has a screen size of 115 x 86 mm or 4.54 x 3.4 in. with pixel resolution of 320 x 234. Operator interacts with the HMI via the embedded keypad assembly that are rated for up to 1 Million actuations. This array of buttons are composed of numerical, navigation, confirmation and function keys. Only the function keys are programmable and capable of accepting local and global assignments. It has an embedded memory amounting to 240K bytes Total Application Flash Memory.

Aside from basic HMI functions, the 2711-K6C3L1 supports alarm and events handling as well as hardware security.

It is powered by an external 18-32 VDC. The internal storage capacity is 240 KB. The terminal weighs 6 pounds (2 kilograms) and has a dimension of 192 (H) x 290 (W) x 116 (D) or 7.55 (H) x 11.40 (W) x 4.57 (D). This operator terminal supports SLC 500 or MicroLogix controller and performs data exchange via the DH-485 network protocol.
