The Allen-Bradley T6C8L1 is a PanelView 600 operator terminal that comes with embedded features and functionalities, enabling it to function as a Human Machine Interface (HMI) allowing real-time monitoring of the connected machine or process via the embedded colored screen and touch operator interface, and built-in Data Highway Plus (DH+) communication port.

The 2711-T6C8L1 mainly features a 6-inch monitor size. It offers more advantage compared to a grayscale or monochrome terminal as this operator terminal is capable of depicting status of instruments and devices through color coded animations which may be of standard or plant specific color codes. The screen is installed with a backlight with an operational lifespan of 50,000 hours, half-life when operated at 25 °C (77 °F).

The Allen-Bradley 2711-T6C8L1 has an analog resistive touchscreen interface with a total of 128 touch cells with individual touch cell size of 20 x 30 pixels. Operator can directly interact with the runtime objects displayed in the screen which is more convenient compared to keypad operated terminals.

The built-in Data Highway Plus (DH+) communication port supports multi-node communication over long distances. It is compatible with the legacy PLC5 and SLC500 controllers as well as the MicroLogix and CompactLogix and Controllers when installed with the appropriate communication adapter or encompass partner module.

This operator terminal is external powered by a supply voltage range of 18-32VDC with nominal value of 24VDC. It has a power dissipation of 17 W (577 BTU/HR) and power consumption of 24 W max. (1.0A @ 24V DC).

The display screen is 4.54 inches wide and 3.4 inches thick with resolution of 320x240. An 18-32 volt source of direct current (DC) powers the Allen-Bradley 2711-T6C8L1 unit. The storage capacity of the unit is 240 KB. In addition, the terminal weighs approximately 4 pounds, and its dimensions are 14x11x8 inches. The terminal utilizes a battery whose half-life at room temperature (250C) is 50,000 hours. The operator inputs values through the keypad with function keys ranging from F1 to F10. A built-in clock is embedded into the battery and keeps track in real time, capturing crucial data. The battery can be replaced in the field.
