The 2711-K9C8 is a PanelView operator terminal that is part of Allen-Bradley’s visualization component products. This operator terminal is generally known as Man Machine Interface (MMI) or Human Machine Interface (HMI). The 2711-K9C8 along the entire PanelView Standard Operator Terminal product family are part of the early visualization products of Allen-Bradley which are obsolete as of this time.

The 2711-K9C8 enables real-time interaction between the operator and the machine or process being controlled. This operator terminal is powered by an external supply voltage of 85-264V AC with frequency of 43-67 hertz. This operator also comes with an internal runtime memory allocation amounting to 310 KB application runtime and 1008 KB nonvolatile memory that is used with application objects, text and bitmaps.

The 2711-K9C8 comes with a 9-inch colored display screen that serves as the operator’s window to the process. This is the component that is used by the operator to observe the process and decide what appropriate control action is needed by the system.

Control is introduced using the embedded keypad installed in the HMI’s front panel. This keypad unit is composed of Sixteen (16) function keys, numeric and navigation keys. The keypad assembly are designed to operate up to 1 million actuation with a set of fully programmable function keys.

Access to partner devices such as controller, gateways or PLC are accomplished though the built-in Data Highway Plus (DH+). Alarm printing is supported via the RS232 printer port.

The 2711-K9C8 terminal has custom applications and it can store information with advanced alarm handling. It is also equipped with an RS-232 port for online printing. It supports various universal languages, screen security, analog gauges, and memory card support. Its various ports can connect to a Logix controller, scanner, PLC, or an SLC.

This 2711-K9C8 PanelView has a built-in DH+ and RS-232 Printer communication which is used together with 2711-NC14 communication cables. The Data Highway Plus terminals are capable of point-to-point communication with a single controller, as well as network communication with multiple controllers over an Allen-Bradley DH+ network. Direct access to controller data files minimizes ladder logic.
