The UD73, an interface option module from Control Techniques, is specifically built for the Profibus protocol within the Unidrive series. Designed for reliable signal exchange, this module provides a RS485 communication port that supports data rates from 9600 bits per second to 1.5 Mbits per second. It is versatile regarding data management, capable of processing eight bytes with full data consistency, alongside formats of four words with and without data consistency.
In terms of physical network capabilities, this module can maintain a network length of 200 meters when operating at 1.5 Mbits/sec. It can efficiently extend this length up to 400 meters when data transfer occurs at 500 kbits/sec. Featuring local network diagnostics enhances troubleshooting capabilities and user awareness of system performance.
The module can connect to a maximum of 31 slave nodes directly without the need for repeaters, or establish a broader network of up to 127 nodes with the inclusion of network repeaters. Its ambient operating temperature ranges from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, while the storage temperature tolerates a band from -25 to 70 degrees Celsius.
