The Eaton HVX03034B1C2 drive is dual horsepower rated for the continuous torque (CT) and the variable torque (VT). The applications for the high starting torque are effective because they improve the speed stability through the use of the sensorless vector control. Also, they have a simplified autotuning procedure which is easy to set up and can be operated through an enhanced keypad and standard induction motors. The HVX03034B1C2 uses the PC software dynamic braking transistor in all its models for easy PLC-like functionality and EasySequence applications. Additionally, the HVX03034B1C2 has the dual-rated CT/VT applications which are effective for the trip avoidance function and the safe-stop function. The HVX03034B1C2 uses side-by-side vertical installation. A metal separation should be used during the installation process to prevent mutual heating. The temperatures which are measured in the fan’s inflow side should be lower than those on the operation side. The operating temperatures are supposed to be measured somewhere 50 millimeters away from the fan. If the temperatures on the fan side are higher, use a larger and thicker sheet metal for separating the components. The HVX03034B1C2 uses the open-loop vector control.
The HVX03034B1C2 has several torque characteristics which are heavy-duty (constant torque applications and low carrier), 2 kHz carrier frequency and 150% overload for about 1 minute. Also, the HVX03034B1C2 has normal-duty characteristics which include a maximum carrier frequency. There is also an open loop vector control and CT mode of up to 150% or that which is above 0.5 Hertz. Additionally, the HVX03034B1C2 has a speed control range for the open and closed loop vector control. The speed response-ability for the HVX03034B1C2 can be up to 40 Hertz. The torque limit is up to 200%. The overload tolerance uses the CT mode of 150%.
