The S801N37N3S soft starter is a soft starter that has been designed and manufactured by Eaton/Cutler-Hammer. The starter is part of the Eaton/Cutler-Hammer S81 series of soft starters. Soft Starters in this category are designed with space-saving capabilities in mind. Therefore, the S801N37N3S soft starter, like others in the same series, is small and compact. The small size makes it possible to fit the S801N37N3S soft starter in existing soft starter systems, wye-delta starters, or across-the-line NEMA and IEC starters. The S801N37N3S soft starter is suitable for use with 3-phase motors in a 3-lead (Delta) configuration. Additionally, the Eaton/Cutler-Hammer S801N37N3S soft starter’s small size allows for easy retrofits of existing MCCs (Motor Control Centers). This prevents the replacing of existing structures, therefore saving on costs.

The S801N37N3S soft starter is designed to operate with a nominal load voltage of either 208 Volts AC, 240 Volts AC, 380 Volts AC, 480 Volts AC, or 575 Volts AC. The soft starter’s maximum current rating is 37 Amps while its control voltage is rated at 24 Volts DC. When operating at a load voltage of either 200 Volts AC or 208 Volts AC, the S801N37N3S soft starter has a maximum Horsepower rating of 5 Horsepower. But, when operating with a voltage of either 460 Volts AC or 480 Volts AC, the soft starter has a maximum Horsepower rating of 7.5 Horsepower. The Eaton S801N37N3S soft starter supports an in-line connection type and a bypass and it meets the CSA, UL, CE, and IEC standards. Note that the soft starter has overload protection and overload capacities of 450% for 30 seconds.
