The Eaton Cutler-Hammer S801T18N3S non-combination reduced voltage soft starter is a high-performance soft motor starter from the Eaton S801 industrial soft starter series that is designed for safe and smooth starting of industrial motors. The S801 soft starters are designed to help reduce undesirable machine shutdowns and the maintenance cost that result from full torque motor starting processes. These soft starters can also extend the life of various machine parts. The S801T18N3S soft starter has a maximum current rating of 180 Amps and it is suitable for 200 to 600 Volts AC applications. It has a normal duty rating of 60 Horsepower (at 40 degrees Celsius) and an insulation voltage rating of 660 Volts AC.

The S801T18N3S soft starter has a built-in programmable overload feature, and depending on the selected start mode, its ramp time can be adjusted from 0.5 to 180 seconds. It has a 10M bypass contactor mechanical lifespan, and an impulse withstand voltage rating of 6000 Volts AC. It offers selectable motor starting and stopping modes, and it is suitable for constant speed applications like conveyor and water supply applications. The S801T18N3S soft starter can detect shorted SCRs, and it can protect the motor from over-temperature, stall, jam, and phase loss faults. It has 3-pole wiring design with lead-type add-on lug kit connectors on the load side, and a 24 Volts DC power control for enhanced user and equipment safety. All Eaton S801 soft starters are designed for use in a harsh and rugged industrial environment, and they can withstand up to 15 G of operating shock. The S801T18N3S soft starter has an operating temperature range of –30 to 50 degrees Celsius and it can be stored at a temperature range of –50 to 70 degrees Celsius range.
